Born in Greenville on January 3, 1945, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert Forrester (Bobby), her father, Reverend John Davenport, and her mother, Catherine Browning Davenport. Carole was a lifelong resident of Greenville, South Carolina, where she was loved and cherished by everyone she met.
Surviving Carole are her children, Lisa Forrester Kitchens (Tim) and Timothy Forrester (Suzanne); granddaughter Kaitlin Elise Forrester; siblings Roy Davenport (Carolyn), Beth Merrifield (Jim), Butch Davenport (Lisa), Pam Merritt (Randy), and Greg Davenport; and many nieces and nephews. Many will remember Carole as a selfless, compassionate person who was like a grandma to her nieces and nephews, and attended to the needs of many others.
Carole was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a passion for gardening and fern gardens. She loved lighthouses – to visit them and collect their miniature replicas. Carole was happiest of all being with her family, especially her siblings. Family meant everything to Carole. Carole was selfless, loving, and giving and will surely have a crown in heaven full of jewels. She will be deeply missed. All who love her are rejoicing that she is in heaven with our Lord, and with the love of her life, Bobby.
A visitation for Carole will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, South Carolina 29609, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM.
