

Born in Detroit, Michigan on February 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late William Cargill and Carolee Smart Sproull. She was married to the late Hubert J. “Mike” Quinn for 54 years and had three children, Michael William (Debbie), Steven Hubert (Bonnie) and Wendy Lee Quinn.
Growing up in Michigan, she played the French horn in her high school band. She later attended the University of Kansas. After completing the required academic requirements in Florida, Carolee was an ordained Episcopal deacon for 31 years after she accepted God’s call at age 63.
Prior to her ordination in 1993 in Pompano Beach, Fla., she worked as an executive secretary and as a banking officer, later returning in 1994 to live in Greenville. In her role as a deacon, she worked for several hospice organizations and served in several churches in the Greenville area. She volunteered for many years at Project Hope Soup Kitchen and as a chaplain for both a Bon Secours hospital as well as Greenville Memorial Hospital. She also worked part time as a manager for a Merle Norman cosmetic studio.
Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, traveling and spending time with her family. She also traveled extensively throughout the Holy Land.
She is survived by her brother William C. Sproull, Jr. of Minneapolis, Minnesota. She also is survived by five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
A celebration of Deacon Lee’s life will be held at the Church of the Redeemer, 120 Mauldin Road, Greenville, S.C. 29605 at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Church of the Redeemer, Heifer International or Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital
