Carolyn Edmonds, 91, of Simpsonville, SC, beloved wife of the late David Wayne Edmonds, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2026. During her final week, she was comforted by her niece, Leslie Saelens, who remained by her bedside each day.
Born September 27, 1934, at Christ’s Hospital in Topeka, Kansas, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Paul P. and Evelyn Faye Cook. She earned a master’s degree in medical records from Kansas State University.
Carolyn held a distinguished role as executive assistant to an owner who often said he would quit if she ever left. She later left that position to marry David and travel widely for his work, living in Romania, Russia, Venezuela, and Yugoslavia. Beyond her career, she was a talented writer, avid gardener, gourmet chef, and passionate reader. She was also a dedicated sorority member and served as librarian of Kilgore House.
Carolyn is survived by her niece, Leslie Saelens, daughter of her late brother, Paul P. Cook; and by her late husband David’s children from a previous marriage, Steven Dale Edmonds and children, and J.D. Edmonds and children.
Cremation will take place, and service announcements will be shared when available.
