

Charles Elliott White Barrett, or “Chet” as he was known by his family and friends, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 21, 2016. Chet was 54, and passed away after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Chet was raised in Raleigh N.C. and graduated from Sanderson High School. He attended Appalachian State University and graduated with a degree in business administration. Chet moved to Greenville, S.C. and considered Greenville his home for over twenty years.
Chet loved life. He was an adventurous person who loved football, especially his beloved Mountaineers, tailgating, the beach, music, dancing, fishing, and spending time with his family and numerous friends. Chet never met a stranger, he had a smile for everyone, a great sense of humor, and was always ready to help a friend. He will be tremendously missed by those whose lives he touched.
Chet is survived by his mother Barbara White Barrett of Raleigh, N.C.; brother Stephen Barrett of Lighthouse Point, F.L.; sister Jean Barrett Hudson, brother-in-law Richard Hudson and niece Sarah Catherine Hudson of Charlottesville, VA; his uncle Elliott S. White, Jr. of Burlington, N.C. and aunt Maeallen Form of Albuquerque, N.M., and many beloved cousins. Chet is preceded in death by his father, Charles M. Barrett.
A celebration of Chet’s life will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation prior from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, S.C. 29609. A committal service will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
