

Born on January 24, 1947, in Greenville, South Carolina, Cheryl was a long-time resident of the Union Bleachery community that she loved. Affectionately known by her nickname, “Tiny,” to her friends and family, she was well known and cherished by many.
Elaine was a member of Parisview Baptist Church and held her faith close to her heart. She was active in her church where she served as a Deacon, was a member of the choir, the decorating committee and served as a clerk and usher. She will be remembered for her smile, her laugh, and the love she shared so freely with family, friends, and neighbors.
She was employed at Union Bleachery and later worked at Sam’s Club, where she formed lasting friendships with coworkers and customers alike. She took pride in her work and was respected for her reliability and caring nature.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Brooks and Grace Brooks. She is survived by her cousins Fran Brooks, Terri Brooks Underwood and David Brooks.
Services will be held at Parisview Baptist Church, 100 Bud Street, Greenville, SC 29617 on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Receiving of friends will begin at 11:00 am in the church social hall with the service in the chapel at noon and burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park following the service.
The family is honored to have the following family and friends to be pallbearers at the service: David Brooks, Richard Aiken, Steve Smith, Tim Turner, Charlie Williams and Charles Emory.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Parisview Baptist Church, 100 Bud St, Greenville, SC 29617.
