

Cheryl “Wink” McLeod, of Greenville, mother of the late Maggie Elizabeth McLeod, and wife of the late John Bowman McLeod, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the home of her niece, Mrs. Kim Warren- Page.
Born in Bloomington, IL, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Dale Winkler. Mrs. McLeod was a nurse anesthetist at Periodontics of Greenville and Saint Francis for 26 years. She was a member of Marathon Church. Wink was the founder of Maggie’s School in Turkana, Kenya, which serves over 600 students. She was also a published author, penning Leave the Large Woman Behind.
She is survived by her sister, Connie Cheren. Also, nieces and nephews; Mike Eaton, Chris Eaton, Mindy Melgar, Bobby Cheren, David Moore, and Kim W. Page; great nieces and nephews Payton, Grace, Emma, Stella, Bryson, Christopher, Cori, Alex and Mitchell.
In addition to her daughter and husband, she is predeceased by her sister Cathleen “Katie” Warren and her niece, Kristi Dale Warren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Marathon Church, 315 Roe Rd, Greenville, SC, 29611. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
