She was born on September 9, 1950 in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania to Helen and Charles Wesley Cox. Chris was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, even coaching her sons’ sporting teams as they grew up. Her passion was everything dog related and truly treasured her dogs. She enjoyed gardening, figure skating, and interior design. Chris was a perfectionist which showed in everything she touched.
Chris was predeceased by her loving husband, Ernest “Skeeter” Gray, her parents, and brothers, Sam and CR Cox. She is survived by her sons, Cameron Gray (Jenna) and Drew Gray (Joanna); grandchildren, Noah Shively (Jordan), Bryce and Talan Gray, Haylie, Blakely, Finley and Marshall Gray; great-granddaughter, Sutton Shively; sister, Kelle Cox; brother, Barry Cox (Nikole); her step-mother M. Jill Cox; beloved niece, Heather Rice (Jimmy); nephews, Wesley Webb (Mindy), Carlton Gray (Kristin), Mark and David Gray; and many other great-nieces and nephews and family members.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive in Greenville, South Carolina at 2:00 pm, followed by a service in the chapel at 3:00 pm. Reception for family and close friends to immediately follow the service at City Club of Greenville at 55 Beattie Pl Floor 17 Greenville SC
