

Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late Claude Lee Coker, Sr. and Mary Stansell Coker. He served our country in the US Army as a Staff Sergeant from 1945-1947. Claude retired after 36 years of service with Steel Heddle.
He was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 67 years, Juanita Dryman Coker; his devoted children, Michael L. Coker; Marcia Raines and Melinda Bruce and her husband Gary; his precious granddaughter, Lyndsey Coker Sloan and her husband Stephen; and he adored his two great granddaughters, Maddie and Anna Clare. He is also survived by his loving sister Carolyn Coker Doan and her husband Bill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Claude was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Thomas “JT” Coker.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 13, 2015 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of The Mackey Mortuary, officiated by Reverend Paul Crews and Reverend David Shirley. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 12:30 – 1:45pm at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Creek Baptist Church, 255 W. Mountain Creek Church Road, Greenville, SC 29609; or to Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605.
