Coy Allen Campbell Sr.

Coy Allen Campbell, Sr., 91, of Taylors, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017. Born in Greer, SC on October 15, 1925, he was the son of the late Woodfin H. and Bertha M. Campbell and the husband of Lillie Myrtle Campbell.

After graduating high school, Mr. Campbell enlisted in the US Navy, serving as a 3rd Class Gunners Mate and Petty Officer. After his time in the service, he worked many years as an office manager and real estate broker. He was of the Baptist denomination. Coy loved fishing, boating, vacationing in the mountains, and above all, spending time with his precious family.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Campbell is survived by his daughters, Sharon Campbell LaPierre (Donald), Joy Campbell Collman, and Sheila Campbell Griffin (Steve); a son, Coy Allen Campbell, Jr.; siblings, Hazel, Clarence, and Sarah; as well as seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Campbell; and son-in-law, Jeff Collman.

The graveside service for Mr. Campbell will be held at eleven o’clock on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, SC, with Dr. Todd Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.
