One of the best legacies a guy can leave is good memories for his family and friends. David was a friend 50 years ago, and I still have good memories of him at the News, on the golf course and behind the wheel of his Chevy. He was a good guy. Best wishes to his family.

I am so sorry to hear about David.  He is made new in Heaven and no more pain. I haven't seen David and Linda in a while.   Kept up through Barry.  I remembered that my Dad loved David as his own son.    We use to say David was his prodigal son.  He also enjoyed playing golf with him.  I know he will be dearly missed not only by his lovely family but also by his friends.  My thoughts and prayers goes up for you Linda and your precious family.  I know that Jesus has His arms wrapped around you all in comforting you and He will give you strength.  Just keep holding onto His nail scarred hands.

To the entire family:  I am so sorry for your loss. I knew David when I was very young. His sister Deb and I were best friends and we all went to school together. I remember riding my bike to your house many days and your mama was always cooking something. She never failed to make me feel like one of hers. Deb, I hope you read this because I would love to talk to you.  There are so many childhood memories.  Please email me or I’ll get my number to you. I’ve thought about this precious, Godly family for many years and have tried many times to find you. I am praying for all of you. My only brother, Jack passed away with cancer at the age of 52 so I know how the siblings feel. May all of you  feel God’s presence and peace that He gives. Much love.

I can't really put into words the way I feel about you. You have been the most absolute best husband, Daddy, Granddaddy, great Granddaddy a family could ask for. You have been a provider, the rock,  always putting your family first. I can never THANK YOU enough for the care and undying love you have for my sister.  At Candace's wedding you told me," the kids don't know but I'm going to bring Linda home when I get better". God had a different plan for you that we can not question. There is no doubt that had you beat the cancer, you and Linda would have been at home together, although we would have wanted you to really think about that.  Visiting her daily until your health took a turn for the worse is more than admirable. We have no way knowing when our time is up on this earth, only God has our number and cause.  I will forever treasure my memories of you, nearly falling out of the chair the first time I heard you sing Wild Thing in a public place, didn't have a clue that side of you, until we meet again my brother n law.

From the time he was born until our mid-teens, when you saw David you saw me.  We shared everything and we enjoyed each others company.  I will and already miss him.   My sincere condolences to all.
