David’s faith in his Savior remained strong to the last days of his illness. He was a long-time member of Faith Baptist Church, Taylors, S.C., and was known throughout his life as a faithful follower of Christ. He was influential to many, both informally and as a lay minister in several churches.
David was born in Sylvania, Ga., and worked on his family’s farm, Ward Dairy. He loved being outdoors, whether to work or to fish or hunt.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Sara Alice Ward; his beloved wife, Anita (Loftin) Ward; and two siblings, Ronald Ward and Clifton Ward.
He will be missed by his four children, Katrina Ward, Suzanne (and Chad) Eubanks, Jonathan (and Jinna) Ward, and Philip (and Heather) Ward; his 16 grandchildren, Sara, Dakota, Kassidy, Caleb, Brody, Elliana, Payton, Jonna, Talon, Jaylee, Nikolay, Olga, Anastasia, Inna, Jacob, and Adeline; his siblings and their spouses, Barbara Wiggins, Wallace (and Allie) Ward, Martha Norris, Wade Ward, Donna (and Lloyd) Wiggins, Karen (and Earl) Hulet, Thomas (and Jean) Ward, and Susie Ward; his brother-in-law Bob (and Judi) Loftin; and many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Faith Baptist Church, 500 West Lee Road, Taylors, with the funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. Friday. A graveside service will be held in Georgia.
