Don and his family moved to Greenville, SC in 1960 from Middletown, IN when he was transferred to begin the Data Processing Department for Marsh, Inc. Don went on to help install a data system for C. Douglas Wilson and was Executive Director of Information Services for the Greenville Hospital System.
He was always a farm boy at heart and enjoyed weekends at the Ridge, a beautiful respite and haven for his family. After retirement Don enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time with his family. He could fix anything, and would happily come to your rescue should you need a helping hand.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley of 64 years and his three daughters Lisa Vyssotsky (Al), Lori Berry (Steve), and Leslie Norwood, three sisters, Jan Parry, Jean Shroyer, and Connie Hummel, four grandchildren, Nick Vyssotsky, Mason Park, Austin Berry, and Zelda Vyssotsky, and one great grandchild, Nora Leigh Park.
Visitation and service will be on Friday September 4, 2020 at 1pm in the Chapel of Mackey at Woodlawn Cemetery, One Pine Knoll Drive. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
