He was dedicated to his faith, his family, and his friends.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Oliver Jones; son John Thomas Jones (Jennifer) of Greenville, SC; sister Carolyn Jones Barnes of Elizabeth City, NC; nieces Suzy Gibbs, Pam Keaton (Don Lee), Catherine Forehand (Stephen), Caroline Dorman; and a blessed bunch of grand nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Donnie was preceded in death by his late wife Helen Stevenson Jones; brothers Ronnie Jones and Allen Jones; and sisters Connie Jones Gibbs and Bonnie Jones Taylor.
He was a faithful member of Morningside Baptist Church and supported missions around the world.
He loved being a mailman in the Wade Hampton Blvd area for 40+ years delivering smiles along with the mail to his customers.
Donnie loved fishing and traveling to car shows and collecting items of nostalgia. In retirement, Pigeon Forge, TN became a favorite destination.
Services for Donnie will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026 at Woodlawn Memorial Park in the Remembrance Chapel, 1901 Wade Hampton Blvd, Greenville, SC 29609. Family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 PM, with a service to follow at 1:00 PM.
