Dora W. Hicks

Dora Wilkinson Hicks, 81, went to be with the Lord on August 12, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. Known to her family as Mimi, she was a native of Newnan, GA, and the daughter of the late Frank Stacy and Florence Gertrude Wilkinson. Mimi was a homemaker, faithful wife, loving mother, grandmother, and a prayer warrior for those she loved. After graduation from Newnan High School, she attended Agnes Scott College, Atlanta, GA where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Greek and Bible. She was a member of Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church..

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dr. Jim Fuller Hicks, and five children: Dr. James Stacy Hicks (Ruth) of Knoxville, TN, Bonnie Hicks Griffith (Bobby), Glenn Alan Hicks (Nancy), Kimberley Hicks Westbury (Keith) and Kenneth Eugene Hicks (Lori), all of Greenville; one sister Ibby Turnipseed (Lonnie) of Lansdale, PA, and fourteen grandchildren: Blair, James, Emma, Millie, Jordan, Brooks, Walker, Wilson, Matthew, Thomas, Charles, Claire, Fuller and Lucy. She was predeceased by her brother Frank Stacy Wilkinson of Harelson, GA.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Mackey Mortuary, Greenville, SC. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Mackey Mortuary. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, SC.
