Dottie was born in Greenville SC in 1928 to the late Bernice and Duke Dyer. She was the beloved wife of 59 years to the late John F Ayers, Jr.
Dottie worked in her younger life for Southern Bell and retired from work in human resources at JC Penney.
She is survived by three children: John F Ayers III, and his wife Sharon, of Oakton VA., Stan Ayers, and his wife Ann, of Cary, NC and Rebecca Ayers Jenkins, wife of the late John Jenkins, and her daughter, Jina Armia, of Wilmington, NC; her grandchildren: Johnny Ayers IV, Allison Elliott, wife of James Elliott, Joshua Ayers, Sarah Ayers, and a great granddaughter, Hannah Elliot.
She is predeceased by her brother, Doyle Dyer, and sister, Teddy Allen.
Dottie was a longstanding member of 1st Presbyterian Church, and the Agape Sunday school class.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, February 11th at 1:00 PM, Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, Pastor, Pam Cole presiding.
