A lifelong resident of Greenville, SC, she was born on March 19, 1942, daughter of the late Charles Floyd and Janie Taylor Lyda.
Doris was a graduate of Parker High School and Holmes Bible College. She started her career working in the travel industry, and later in life she was an executive assistant for a small business.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Sarah Howell; grandson, Drew Howell; granddaughters, Kate and Madelyn Howell all of Greenville, SC; and many other loving family members.
Doris is preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Paul, and Gene Lyda; and one sister, Clara Lyda Finley.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 25, 2022 from 5-7pm at Mackey Funerals and Cremations, 311 Century Drive, Greenville, SC.
