Doris Holland Montgomery, 84, of Simpsonville, SC died Sunday, July 20, 2014. Born in Auburn, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Rev. John H. & Hettie Eierdanz Holland. She was member of Trinity Presbyterian Church of Travelers Rest for 54 years. Doris graduated from Parker High School Class of 1948 and retired as PBX Operator after 19 years from St. Francis Hospital. Doris was pre-deceased by her husband, Homer S. Montgomery, after 62 years of marriage. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Alva Lee Piper, and one sister, Elva Mae Pendleton.
She is survived by a son: Mike Montgomery, two daughters Debbie Clement (Dorsett), Lynette Owens (Rick) nine Grandchildren; four Great grandchildren; Brothers; Dale H. Holland of Greenville, SC, and J.E. Holland of Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 11:30 am in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 10:00 to 11:30 am at the funeral home. Arrangements under the direction of Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Greenville, SC.
