She moved to the Greenville, SC area in the mid-1950's with her late husband Jimmy, to whom she was married for 47 years. She was employed by KMart for over 20 years before retiring. Dot was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her deep commitment to her family and the many beloved pets that filled her home and heart will always be remembered. She found joy in the quiet pleasures of life; a good book, a walk in the woods, or planting a garden. Dot lived a full and meaningful life rich with love, loyalty and grace. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith Derrick, and her grandsons, Matthew, Daniel, and Will Derrick. She was predeceased by her husband, James H. Connor; her brother, William Hartman; and her parents, William and Dorothy Swenson Hartman.
A graveside service for Dot will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 3:00 pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1901 Wade Hampton Blvd., Greenville, SC 29609.
