For the MANY years I have known Doug, he has always been so kind. His boyish smile and beautiful eyes were contagious. He voiced his love of God even going through some bumps in the road. He also loved his children and family. Doug considered his animals as his family also. Rest In Peace

Douglas was one of the kindest, most compassionate people I have ever known, always willing to lend a shoulder and an ear to someone in their darkest hours. Never claiming to be perfect, Douglas shared his belief in a forgiving God freely. He was secure in his faith; he spoke eloquently of feeling the closest to God when surrounded by the peacefulness and beauty of nature. Douglas has brought a measure of joy to so many people in so many different little ways, going out of his way to lift the spirits of anyone whom he saw flagging in his life. Surely he has the angels laughing now, gathered around him, eyes twinkling as he speaks, and just as surely, he casts an eye back to earth, to whisper in the ears of his loved ones when needed, "Stay strong for me. God listens!"

I knew Doug from Gold's Gym. I always enjoyed seeing his smiling face every weekend. He always had a kind word to say or something funny to brighten my day. (Isn't that what we should all strive to do) I truly enjoyed the friendship we had. Gold's Gym will not be the same without him.

My wife and I always felt so welcomed when Doug was at the front desk of the Gold's Gym in Clemson. He will be missed. Our sincere sympathies to Doug's family for their loss.

Sara and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Doug will live on in my heart forever. He was such a funny and kind man. I will always remember the days of Golds Gym seeing Doug smiling his contagious smile and speaking to any and everyone. Why Doug was taken so soon and unexpectedly only his Heavenly Father knows. He is in his eternal home of glory that God had prepared for him. May God give comfort to you all knowing he has Doug and that he is more alive now than ever. Doug will be greatly missed by many. Rest in Peace Doug. I will see you again my friend.
