Eleanor Mims Glenn died on September 20 at the age of 94. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of David Henry Mims and Virginia Mae Mims. She was a 1940 graduate of Greenville High and a 1944 graduate of Furman University.
Eleanor was a devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church, now the Trinity Campus of Buncombe Street United Methodist Church, for close to 70 years. Teaching adult Sunday school was one of her great pleasures.
She is survived by her son Ernest (Debbie), and her daughter Julia Ettari (James). Her grandchildren are Thomas Glenn (Kelly) of San Diego, Ellen Glenn (Tristan Sloughter) of Denver, James Ettari of Arlington, VA, and Brian Ettari of Raleigh. Her great grandchild is Zachary Glenn.
She was predeceased by her husband of sixty one years, Joseph Douthit Glenn, her son John, and a daughter in law, Nancy Glenn.
A service will be held on Sunday, September 23rd, at the Trinity Campus of Buncombe Street United Methodist Church, 2703 Augusta Rd at 2pm, with a greeting after the service in the church social hall. Burial will be private.
