

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Elzie Ruth Anderson (Morphis), who left this world on May 20, 2025. Born on February 24, 1943, in Oran, Missouri, Elzie lived a life filled with love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and God.
Elzie graduated from Waukegan High School, marking the beginning of a journey filled with hard work and perseverance. On June 9, 1962, she married the love of her life, Richard F. Anderson, with whom she built a beautiful life together. She devoted over 20 years of service to Abbott Laboratories, where her diligence and commitment left a lasting impact. She was a faithful member of the Taylors church of Christ for 25 years where she was actively involved and was dearly loved by so many.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ottis and Lessie Morphis; her dear brothers John, Bill, Edward, and Paul Morphis; her sister, LaVada Bond; her devoted husband, Richard (Dick) Anderson; and their precious daughter, Dana Anderson.
Elzie’s legacy lives on through her loving children, M. Todd Anderson and Bethany Epperson, who is married to Wes. Her warmth and love will continue to shine in the hearts of her grandchildren, Ryan, Sophia, and Ben Epperson, who will always cherish the memories of their beloved grandmother.
A celebration of Elzie’s life will take place on June 2, 2025, at 1:00 pm, at Mackey Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor her beautiful life, sharing stories and embracing the love she spread to all who knew her.
Elzie Ruth Anderson will be forever missed, but her spirit remains with us, woven into the lives of those she touched. Rest in peace, Elzie, knowing you were deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
