Ernest “Skeet” Stuart Gray, Jr., 72, of Greer, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Born December 12, 1946 in Norfolk, VA to Ernest Stuart and Doris Carlton Gray, he grew up in Greenville and served in the US Navy from 1967 – 1971, receiving the Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. Skeet graduated from Clemson University in 1974 and worked as Manager of Engineering at Fluor Daniel. In his spare time, he enjoyed showing his two Springer Spaniels, golf, fishing, coin collecting, and watching his Clemson Tigers football, but his true passion was his family. Preceded in death by his parents, Skeet is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Christina; sons, Cameron and Drew (Joanna); 12 grandchildren; brother, Wayne (Maria); sisters, Susan Gray and Connie Kennington; niece, Heather Rice (Jimmy); nephews: Carlton (Kristin), Mark, and David Gray; and many other extended family members.
