Ethel Lee Jones

Born on March 6, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Ella and Charles Funk. She married the love of her life and best friend, David Russell Jones, on June 6, 1955, and together they welcomed two children.

Lee’s happy place was outside. She was passionate about working with her hands and found deep satisfaction in tending her acres of land on her golf cart, growing flowers, and taking on whatever project came her way with Dave by her side. She was always his sidekick.

Above all, Lee was devoted to her family. Her husband and children were her world. Lee also cherished her sisters, and the bond they shared was faithfully kept through sister nights on Tuesday evenings. Her son's dog Rose held a special place in her heart as well.

Lee was generous in heart, constant in care, and deeply cherished by those who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for giving the best hugs.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Ruby Dill and Freddie Jenkins, as well as her brothers Charles Funk and James Funk.

Lee is survived by her children, Brenda Tallon (Terry) and William Jones (Tami); sisters, Carolyn Perry, Pat Paquin, and Bobbie Eubanks; grandson Russell Tallon; and many grandchildren and extended family members.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. The Funeral will be the following morning at 10:00 AM at the same location. Following the service she will be laid to rest next to her husband in the park.
