Fitzhugh L Saunders Jr

Fitz was born September 30, 1930 in Charlotte, NC, to the late Fitzhugh Lee Saunders, Sr. and

Anna Mae Logan Saunders. He was the husband of the late Barbara Saunders.

Fitz is survived by his daughters Lisa S. Brown (Chip) of Chapin, SC, and Debra S. Parker (Joe)

of Central, SC; his sister Mary Anne Port of Huntingdon, PA; four grandchildren Trey, Joey,

Pauline and Trent and a great grandson, Deacon.

Fitz was preceded in death by his daughters Lianne S. Holt, Virginia Lee Saunders, and

Barbara Danette “Dani” Saunders.

Fitz attended Virginia Technical College. He served his country in the Navy during the Korean

War and had over 60 years in the automobile industry. He had a Hudson dealership in

Anderson and was the owner of Saunders Enterprises, Inc., a partner in Fitz Wholesale Truck &

Auto, and Lease Return Sales Manager for Transworld Leasing. He valued his friends and loyal

customers and work throughout his careers. In addition, he was heavily involved in oil well

drilling in TX and coal strip mining in WV.

Fitz enjoyed playing golf, boating and going on cruises. He loved hard work, our country, his

family, friends and customers.

A Visitation will take place at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Century Drive, 311 Century Drive Greenville, SC 29607 followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Heritage at Lowman, 2101 Dutch Fork Rd,

Chapin, SC 29036. The family is very grateful for the wonderful care they provided Fitz.
