Born in Pickens, she was a daughter of the late Duffie and Artie Mauldin Riggins. Mrs. Roper was retired from Fiber Industries and was a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church. She and her late husband were active members of Cleveland Street YMCA for 20 years. Mrs. Roper grew up in the Judson Community and enjoyed attending the Judson Reunion every year. She and her sister enjoyed many activities together at Greenville Glen Assisted Living.
Mrs. Roper is survived by a daughter, Jane Hightower; a granddaughter, Kristen Hightower; a great granddaughter, Cameron Cook; a sister, Betty Powell; a niece, Cindy Black; and her best friend, Peggy Boring.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Remembrance Mausoleum Chapel at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM in Remembrance Mausoleum Chapel prior to the service.
