

Floyd Louisa Vissat, 91, of Mauldin, SC, died Dec. 7, 2014 Born in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John and Mary Vissat. He is predeceased by brothers Peter and Paul, his first wife Julianna and a son Fred Vissat. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, he served as a mechanical engineer, PE; as well as a flight engineer with the U.S. Air Force.
A member of Our Lady of Grace, Pittsburgh, PA and Our Lady of Lourdes, Sun City West, AZ, he also attended St Mary Magdalene in Simpsonville, SC. Always serving others, his additional memberships include the Boy Scouts of America where he was a Scout Leader in Allegheny Trails Council and helped all four of his boys obtain the highest rank of Eagle Scout; a member of the Knights of Columbus, an Usher and Church Council member who assisted with fund raising activities and a stage manager with Western Aires and Rhythm Tappers, Sun City West, AZ.
Floyd is survived by his wife of 26 years, Betty Frances; daughter Barbara (Ronnie) White, two step-Daughters: Lynn (Ed) Knowles & Diane Pierce; sons Floyd Jr. (Donna), Don (Kristen), Dan and step-sons: John D’Alessandro and Michael Otacki. Also surviving are grandchildren: Kirk (Krista), Anne Marie (Seth), Brent, Branden, Bryan, Alyssian, Ashley, John, Deana, Rhonda; step-grandchildren: Laine (Eric), Michael, Dana, Ryan; great grandchildren: Myla Marie, step-great grandchildren: Jaiden and Cade
Visitation will be Thursday, December 11th, 2014 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home. A Funeral mass will be held at 10 AM at St Mary Magdalene, Simpsonville, on Friday, December 12th, 2014. Memorials may be made to Parkinson’s Research Organizations or Support Groups.
