Frances was born on April 14, 1927, in Woodruff, South Carolina, one of eight children born to the late Samuel Columbus Godfrey and Julia Greene Godfrey. Growing up in a large family, she learned early the value of resilience, love, and connection, qualities that would define her life for decades to come.
Frances built a remarkable career in the railroad industry, where she held a variety of roles over the years. Through dedication and perseverance, she rose to retire from CSX Corporation as Trainmaster of the Greenville area office. This accomplishment reflected both her strong work ethic and leadership. Even with the long hours and demands of her career, Frances never lost sight of her family. She was a devoted and caring mother, grandmother, and friend, always making time for those she loved.
Frances’ memory will be cherished by her daughter, Ellisa Huguley Culp; her son-in-law, Reverend William Wallace Culp, III; her grandchildren, William Ellis Culp and Catherine Elisabeth Culp; and her sister, Sammie Godfrey Danner.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Howard Huguley, Jr., and six of her siblings.
