Fredna J. Scott

Fredna J. Scott, 83, of Simpsonville, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on Friday, December 26, 2025. Born January 11, 1942, in Pendleton, SC. She was the daughter of the late Robert Maurice (Reece) and Fredna Shockley Jones.

Fredna was a graduate of Pendleton High School and Central Wesleyan College. She dedicated much of her life to the nurturing of others, spending 23 years as a school teacher. Her commitment to education was a reflection of her patient soul and her desire to see others grow and flourish. She also served faithfully within her church and community. Beyond her family, she found her greatest peace outdoors gardening in her yard.

She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Gareth D. Scott. She is survived by her children: Amy Love and her husband, Darrin, of Powdersville; Quay Scott and his wife, Erica, of Simpsonville; and her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Scott of Duncan. She was preceded in death by her son, Del Scott. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren: Cassi and Kory Scott; Connor, Emma, Bella and McKenna Love; and Ava, Sam, and Will Scott.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Mauldin Methodist Church, located at 100 East Butler Rd., Mauldin, SC 29662.
