He is preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas George Pattis and Mary Louise Pattis.
He is beloved by his 3 sons, George, Greg, and Reid Pattis; long time partner, Nora Truong; his sister, Mary Nuñez and husband, Rigo Nuñez; his aunt, Peggy Brock; nephew Rigoberto Nuñez ; nieces, Alexandra and Danielle Nuñez; and grandson, Mateo Pattis.
Dr. Pattis received a B.S. degree in Biology from the USC Upstate. Later he attended graduate school at the California College of Podiatric Medicine, in San Francisco, earning his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Pattis served in the United States Public Health Service and served his community as a Podiatrist for 38 years.
Dr. Pattis loved the outdoors and engaged in many recreational activities over his lifetime - his main passions were surfing, martial arts and hiking. George became the Captain of his high school surfing team in California. In his early to middle years, he was an avid participant in martial arts holding a black belt in Cuong Nhu under Master Ngo Dong. Later in life, he fell in love with hiking, going on to hike every national and state park in North and South Carolina.
The wake will be held from 6:00 pm -8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 11th at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Century Drive, 311 Century Dr, Greenville, SC 29607.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 12th at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Century Drive.
Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, November 12th, 2020 at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson SC, 140 Inway Drive, Anderson, SC 29621.
Serving as pallbearers will be George Pattis, Greg Pattis, Reid Pattis, Rigo Nuñes, Jonathan Dozier, and George Brock.
