

He was a resident of Zirconia, NC with his wife of 18 years, Yvette, and their dog Trooper Blu. Born in Wytheville, VA, he graduated from Rural Retreat High School, and served as a missile electronic specialist in the Air Force for four years, during which time he earned his engineering degree equivalent via Air Force courses. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of Texas, and completed some graduate studies in Public Service Administration at Texas Christian University. His career included more than 30 years in the electric utilities industry, and several years as an energy consultant in Texas, Arizona, and North Carolina. He loved classic cars, yard work, traveling, and reading.
He is survived by his wife Yvette; sons Jason (Angela), Brian (Jessica), Justin, and Sean; granddaughters Leslie (Taylor), Jordan, Kendal, Josephine, Mackenzie, grandson Christian; and great-grandchildren Roland, Juliette, and Olivia; brother Billy (Shelby), along with extended family, co-workers and friends who love and miss him dearly.
A celebration of life was held in the Fort Worth area for his Texas family and friends June 2nd, with another private celebration of life to be scheduled in Zirconia, NC for his Virginia and North Carolina family and friends.
