George Robert Reiter, of Taylors SC, passed away on February 24, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

Born May 8, 1925 in Belfonte PA, He was the son of the late Francis and Pearl Reiter. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. Ralph A. Reiter and Carl Richard Reiter and an infant son, Robert Neal Reiter. George served his country in the Navy and was a WWII veteran . He was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church in Greenville SC.

George is survived by his loving wife Jannell of Taylors SC, His Children, Carol Hardin, Cathy Ulber- Robinson (Chris), Robert “Bobby” Reiter, Carol Thomason (Sam) , Buddy Henderson (Vy) and Keith Henderson (Angela). George is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. The family is very grateful for the loving care he received from Interim Healthcare Hospice.

George was a graduate of Penn State University and a proud Nittany Lion supporter. Throughout his career as an Engineer, he worked with General Electric, Singer Power Tool, Beverage Air before starting his own company, Tool Rite Machine. George was an extremely successful Engineer with over 130 patents to his name.

George lived with a lively youthful spirit in his 100 years and his smile and laughter were infectious. He volunteered his time with mission work in Ghana and in his later years as a Veteran’s Hospice Volunteer.

Music was central to his life. He played, Piano, Organ, Keyboard and Cello and loved singing in the choir. He served as a church organist for many years. He was always singing or humming a tune as he went about his daily life.

Most certainly, Dad’s warm smile and quiet grace will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Service is planned. Date to be announced.
