Gloria Lee Dendy

Mrs. Gloria Lee Pendergrass Dendy, 77, was born on Sunday, September 7, 1947 in Sharpsburg, North Carolina, and transitioned on Monday, July 7, 2025, at home. She was the daughter of the late Mamie C. Williams and James Hart. Gloria was a 1965 graduate of Frederick Douglass High School in Elm City, NC.

She was employed as a receptionist at Veterans Administration and Social Security Administration and retired after 32 years of service.

On Friday, February 13, 1976, she married the love of her life, Ralph Dendy. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Leland Pendergrass Jr., and two sisters, Mary Lee Singletary and Dorothy Lee Hines.

A dedicated member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Gloria served as Treasurer of the Ushers Ministry and Deaconess Ministry.

Left to cherish fond memories are her devoted husband, Ralph Dendy; one daughter, Daniela Caprice Dendy (Grate) of Charlotte, NC; one son, Dashun (Tonya) Dendy of Hendersonville, NC; one sister, Charlotte Dupree of Fountain, NC; two brothers, Leroy Pendergrass of Sharpsburg, NC and Alton Pendergrass of Farmville, NC; eight grandchildren, Rodney Guy II, Armon Guy, Anaya Guy, Isaiah Dendy, Briana Dendy, Dylan Carroll, Kyle Malone, and Caitlin Malone; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A funeral for Gloria will be held Sunday, July 13, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 1 Horton St, Greenville, SC 29601. Following the funeral will be a committal at 3:00 PM at Greenville Memorial Gardens, 7784 Augusta Rd, Piedmont, SC 29673.
