Greg Heiman, 70, passed away on August 15, 2026 after a brief illness. He was at home in Greenville, South Carolina, with his family. Greg was an adventurous spirit, a lifelong learner, and a music lover. Greg was a giant in all he did: he enjoyed a lifelong career in commercial diving; was an avid athlete, playing football in college and staying active even through his illness; traveled fearlessly; loved photography, cars, and motorcycles; and went to any concert he could get a ticket to. He was always reading and told great stories. Greg cherished his identities as husband, father, son, brother, and amigo.
He is preceded in death by his mother, JoLee Heiman, and survived by his wife of 39 years, Karen; his children, Jace, Ellen (Mark); his father, James; his siblings, Doug (Kacey), Tim, and Melissa (Eric); and many cousins, nieces and nephews, in-laws, and friends.
Services for Greg will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026 at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. Family will receive guests at 11:00 AM, with a memorial service to begin at 12:00 PM. A celebration of life will be held in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin on Sunday, August 30, 2026 from 3-7 p.m. at Buck & Honey’s, 804 Liberty Blvd, Sun Prairie, WI 53590. Guests are invited to wear a favorite band or concert shirt as a way to honor Greg.
