Harry Kenneth Dicely, 94, of Greenville, died Friday, August 01, 2014.
Born in Lancaster, PA he was the only child of the late Ralph and Mary Carolis Dicely.
He attended Franklin & Marshall College and graduated in 1943 from Drexel Institute of Technology with a degree in chemical engineering. He was an Air Force Veteran of WWII.
In 1946 he married Bonnie Bolt O’Shields in Greenville and after working in Philadelphia and Baltimore, they moved to Greenville in 1952 where he was employed for 30 years with J. E. Sirrine Company, retiring in 1982.
Ken and Bonnie celebrated their 68th Wedding Anniversary on June 5, 2014.
He was a member of the 4th Presbyterian Church, joining in 1953, and was a Deacon and Elder along with being active in various church activities. Ken was a 32nd Degree Mason, a Shriner and past Worshipful Master of Recovery Blue Lodge; a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and in 1982 was awarded “Engineer of the Year” by the Piedmont Chapter. He was a charter member of the Pleasantburg Sertoma Club and a 25 year volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Surviving are his wife, Bonnie O’Shields Dicely; daughters, Marilys (Dr. Allen) Anderson of Balsam, NC; Patricia (Robert) Rosenberger of Alpharetta, GA; and a son, Courtney (Janice) Dicely of Plainfield, NJ and 3 grandsons, 3 granddaughters and 1 great granddaughter.
Memorial Services will be held 11 am Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the 4th Presbyterian Church.
