

Mrs. Jacqueline (Jackie) C. Rudder of Greenville, SC passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of Coy Gonzales and Maude Reynolds Coulson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James D. (Jim) Rudder.
Her family moved to Bristol, Tennessee, where she attended public schools and met her life-long friends. She also attended Sullins College in Bristol. After her marriage, Jackie and Jimmy moved to Greenville, SC, where they raised their children.
Jackie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC, where she served as a Circle Leader for many years and was a member of the Agape Sunday School Class. She owned and operated Brides’ World on Main Street in Greenville, following the marriage of all her children.
She is survived by her three children: Katherine Ligon (Kathy and Bill), of Camden, SC, Jennifer O’Neal (Jerry) of Greenville and James Donald, Jr. (Amy) of Raleigh, NC. She also is survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren: William Coulson Ligon (Tiffany) and Coulson; Katherine (Kay) L. Beekman (Andy), Reynolds and Hickson; James Rudder O’Neal (Katherine) and Margaret; Mary Jacqueline McGrath (Tom) and Mary Martin; Christopher (Chris) M. O’Neal of Greenville; Emily Taylor (Rich) and Henry of Jeffersonville, VT. Jackie was also predeceased by her brother, Eric Franklin Coulson, formerly of Rock Hill, SC and her daughter-in-law, Ann Winchester Rudder.
The service celebrating the life of Mrs. Rudder will be private, due to the restrictions of COVID-19.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial in her honor to Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina, 2817 Ashland Road, Columbia SC 29210. She lived there for almost eight years prior to relocating to her daughter’s home, Jennifer, to be with family during the last days of her illness.
