

Born on February 24, 1947 in Greenville, South Carolina, James was the son of the late Mary Frances Switzer and James Lewis Albert. He was a graduate of Wade Hampton High School, after which he went on to serve in the Army for four years. James spent his 42 year career working with the phone company Bellsouth, AT&T, and Lucent, retiring from Avaya.
Known for his infectious smile, James was not only a hard worker, but also a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, Clemson Tiger, and loved the Atlanta Braves. He was of the Baptist faith.
James is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Ann Davis Albert, daughters, Angela L. Albert Inman and Dr. Jaime Ann Albert Campbell (Steve), granddaughters, Christina Georgia Inman, Claire Elise Campbell, and Lydia Elaine Campbell, sisters, Sandra Sprouse (Mike) and Barbara Pilgram (Randy (deceased)), as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation for James will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 11:30 AM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, followed by a graveside service at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in James' honor may be made to the McCall Hospice House, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
