Born in Oconee County, S.C., he was the son of the late Henry Utley and Allie Mae Woolbright Earle. James was a graduate of Clemson College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
In addition to his wife and parents, James was predeceased by brothers, Harry, Julius and John; sister, Evelyn Earle Goodman. He is survived by daughter Melinda Alonso and husband Felix of Columbus, OH; a granddaughter, Mary Katherine; and a grandson, Felix Maxwell. Also survived by numerous relatives. The family would like to extend grateful appreciation and special thanks to Hannah Campbell Gallant and husband Steven.
A graveside service officiated by Rev.Tom Campbell will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
