Jim was an old friend of my mom's, Barbara Nelson. We loved Jim. Jim was quite the character. Please don't be offended by my Jim story. Lets be honest, he was a cheapskate. He was not a big tipper and my mom was a waitress so when we would go out to eat with Jim, he never left a decent tip. My mom would sneak back to the table and add a few dollars under the plate so Jim wouldn't see. I only met his wife Mary once a long time ago and she seemed liked a nice lady, I was glad he found her.

My other Jim memory is a much sweeter story. I had to been about 9 or 10 years old. I had saved and saved my own money to buy myself a bike. I had $25 and the bike I wanted was $25. I was so excited. Jim went with me & mom to Kmart to make the purchase. I didn't think about sales tax... The sales tax was $1. I didn't have it. I burst out crying. Jim immediately gave me the $1 I needed. Looking back, I know my mom would have given me the dollar also but Jim volunteered first. It made me so happy.

RIP Jim and sending up prayers for you and your family.

We lost touch with Uncle Jimmy over the years. He was always kind and had a great laugh. Sympathies to the family.
Here is a picture my dad, Harry, Jr., the oldest brother, took of Jimmy when Dad returned from his tour of Germany.
