We're so sorry for your loss.  We will always  remember Doug as someone who always had a smile on his face and made others smile.  He was a wonderful father and husband.  The world is truly a poorer place now.

I worked with Doug   @ Greenville County tax office  in the  late 1970's .  He was a nice person , always had a laugh to share and we were friends for a short time so many years ago. So sorry  to read of his passing. My sincere condolences  to his family.

I am remembering as kids/adolescents, with Doug in our Gang, all the carefree roaming of Walden Parkway area on our bikes,  damming up the creek to make a swimming hole, camping out up all hours of the night, sledding down Ellenburgs driveway,  paper routes, building  skateboards from old skates and racecars from scrap lumber and salvaged wheels...on and on. I hope that is what Doug is doing now.  RIP my friend and condolences to the family.

     It was with great sorrow that I read of Doug's passing. I remember you, Doug and the other brothers playing in the creek below y'alls house along Walden Parkway. We would build dams in the morning and swim and play in the afternoon if it was warm enough. Those were the fun times of our youth and I will never forget them. God bless you and your family

I’ve known the Ellenburgs most of my life. We moved in next door when I was four and Katie quickly became my best friend. I regularly walked in their kitchen, completely uninvited, and Doug would say “hey Bec!” He never hesitated to offer me their food, even when I politely declined. He could always be found on his computer, jamming out to music before my time. He was so kind, generous,  and soft spoken that I don’t believe he had one bad bone in his body. He was a great man and will surely be missed. 

Doug was a second father to me. When I didn't have a place to go, Doug and Dana let me stay with them without hesitation, showed immense kindness to me, and treated me like a daughter. Over the years,    my husband and I would spend many Saturdays at their home, enjoying the evening with excellent conversation, the best music, and the Ellenburg's amazing grilling abilities. Doug was always welcoming, warm, and a supportive friend. He was a true fighter, inspired me to really love those around me with force and strength. Watching the relationship between Dana and him, as well as his calm and supportive nature as a father, made me a better wife and mother. Love him so much!
Also, Doug had the most amazing mustache, and noone else's mustache comes close. 
Love you all so much!
