James Francis Fero, Jr. (Jim) 74, died Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Born on January 10, 1948, in Doylestown, PA to the late James Francis Fero, Sr. and Lillian Mae Henderson, he was the youngest of five siblings. He was raised in the Salisbury, NC area.
Jim retired from a life-long career in mechanical contracting. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served in the Ceremonial Guard in Washington, DC and aboard the USS Carpenter, a destroyer.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Patricia McCaskill Fero (Patt), a son, Jonathan Fero (Betsy) of Lafayette, CO, a stepson Richard Hobbs from St, Cloud, Minnesota and a stepdaughter Stephanie Hobbs from Boulder, Colorado. He is also survived by two granddaughters in Colorado, Annabelle and Elizabeth Fero.
There will be a memorial service on Friday, June 24 at 1:00 pm at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 1002 South Main Street, Greenville, SC. Lunch in the church parish hall will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the church and the Greenville County Cancer Society are encouraged.
