Born in London, England, he was the son of the late Archibald J. Gill and the late Marjorie C. (Watson) Gill.
He was an Electrical Design Engineer and registered as a Professional Engineer in South Carolina, California, and Connecticut. He received most of his formal engineering training in England. He was a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. He was retired from Fluor Daniel and the US Air Force. He was a Communicant of Christ Church, Greenville.
Surviving are four children, Stephanie Harrell of Woodruff, Christopher Gill of Greenville, Sandra Jones (Bryan “Tony”) of Greenville, and Denise Chandler (Terry) of Woodruff; seven grandchildren, Ryan Harrell, Logan Pittman, Matthew Gill, Christy Gill, Debra Gill, Jacob Jones, and Destiny Chandler; and three great-grandchildren, Paislee Mae Harrell, Rylyn Grace Harrell, and Taylor Alex Pittman.
Mr. Gill will be dearly missed by his family and friends, as his sense of humor was contagious.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 6:45pm on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Century Drive. A memorial service will follow at 7:00pm in the funeral home chapel.
