J.C. "Ironhead" Bowick was called home to spend eternity with the love of his life, wife Bernice,on Wednesday, February 21st, 2018. J.C. and Bernice were married for over 65 years. Born in Abbeville County,SC, he was the son of the late Claude and Samantha Burden Bowick.He was retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company, was the founder and former owner of Bowick Carpets and played in the 1945 Shrine Bowl. He was a faithful member of Praise Cathedra and is survived by daughters Trena Draughn (John), of Surfside Beach; Myrna Smith (Rod) of Murrells Inlet; son, Brad Bowick (Cyndi), of North Myrtle Beach and a grandchild, Blake Sloan. He was predeceased by his wife, Bernice.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Bowick will be held in The Remembrance Chapel at Woodlawn Memorial Park on Sunday February 25, 2018 at 2:00pm. A Time of Visitation with family will be held one hour prior to the Funeral Service (1:00pm-2:00pm) in Remembrance Chapel. Burial will follow service in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
