James "Jimmy" Jenkins, born October 15, 1943, passed away on June 19, 2026, at the age of 82. Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Greenville, South Carolina and was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and faithful friend whose life touched many.
Throughout his life, Jimmy had a deep appreciation for poetry and often expressed his thoughts and reflections through his writing. He also loved singing hymns, finding comfort and inspiration in music and worship. Steadfast in his faith, Jimmy devoted much of his time to studying the Bible and living according to the values and principles he held dear.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Jean Walker Jenkins; his son, Kevin S. Jenkins; his grandson, Reed Jenkins; his granddaughter, Megan Jenkins Gault (Tim); and his great-granddaughter, Elena Gault.
Visitation will be held at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609, on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:45 am, followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 12:00 pm.
A burial will take place following the service in Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1901 Wade Hampton Blvd, Greenville, SC 29609.
