Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Jane moved to Greenville in 1968 to attend Furman University. It was there where she met her husband, and where they began their life together. Jane taught music for nearly 50 years in Griffin, GA and Greenville, SC. Outside of school, one of her largest passions was singing. She took part in the Greenville Chamber Choir and the choir at First Baptist of Greenville, where she was a member. Her family was undoubtedly a cornerstone in her life, and she always exuded what it means to show a mother's love. It was rare to find Jane without a book in her hand.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Richard Stelling; two sisters, Susanne Bennett and Mary Shean; three sons, Richard Stelling Jr., David Stelling, and John Stelling; and six grandchildren, Aidan, Henry, Oscar, Sophronia, Hardiman, and Teddy.
