Jennie Mae Simonson

Jennie Mae Simonson, 97, of Eatonton, Georgia, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 12, 2019. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to Thompson McGowan and Jennie Johnson McGowan. Jennie was preceded in death by her loving husband of over fifty years, Charles George Simonson; and her siblings: James and William McGowan, Bessie Ott, Louise Koons, Ruth O’Connell, Mary Heinz, and Clara Miller. She was incredibly devoted to her family and is survived by her sons, Allan “Charles” and Richard Thomas Simonson (Susan); daughter, Janet Cordano (Tom); grandchildren: Holly Ascuitto (Paul), Lori Mastrobuono (Dan), Allan Charles Simonson III (Robin), Amy King (Randall), Richard Simonson (Elisabeth), Karen Jane Cordano (Zeke Leonard), and Barbara Ann Cordano (Alberto Luza); great-grandchildren: Anthony and Cassie Visceglia, Daniel and Isabella Mastrobuno, Allan Charles Simonson IV, Alexander and Dylan Simonson, Jack, Sean, and Henry King, Michael Simonson, Thomas and Charles Leonard, and Gabriel and Samuel Luza; and brother, Thomas McGowan. Jennie is also survived by her very special and caring friends in Eatonton: Frances Kaufold, Marge Reeves and Emily Speight.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Mackey Funerals and Cremations Century Drive, 311 Century Dr., Greenville, SC 29607. The family will receive friends and loved ones one hour prior beginning 10:00 AM. Committal services will take place at Graceland East Memorial Park, 2206 Woodruff Rd, Simpsonville, SC 29681, with a reception following back at Mackey's.
