Jesse L. Watts

Mr. Watts was born in 1937 in Charlotte, North Carolina, the only son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Jesse & Mildred Snipes Watts of Charlotte. He graduated from Charlotte's Central High School in 1956 and was a veteran of the United States Army (1956-58), serving as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division.

Mr. Watts made his lifelong career in the banking industry. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and especially fishing, having spent many of his summer vacations on the piers of Grand Strand beaches.

Mr. Watts was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Peggy Ruth Aycock of Riverview, Florida, and Judith Lynn Hill of Matthews, North Carolina.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Joyce Watts of Greenville; two sons: Eric L. Watts of Atlanta, Georgia, and Marc L. Watts of Columbia, South Carolina; four nieces and one nephew; and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Mackey Funeral Home, 1 Pine Knoll Drive in Greenville, followed by a graveside service at Woodlawn Memorial Park at 3:00 PM.
