Joan Marion Smith Looper passed away peacefully at home Sunday, June 3, 2012, after an extended illness. Born in Greenville September 9, 1939, she grew up in City View and graduated from Parker High School in 1957. She was a daughter of the late Isaiah J. (Ike) and Ethel Caplan Smith. Joan was a Registered Nurse for over 30 years and retired from the Greenville Hospital System. A caring and loving mother, she is survived by son Christopher M. Stewart and wife Jeanette of Easley, son Bradley T. Stewart of Greenville, two granddaughters, and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister Connie J. Clark of Florida and brother William R. (Bill) Smith of Virginia. She was preceded in death by husbands Jerry Stewart and Joe Looper. A service will be Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 12pm at the Woodlawn Funeral Home, Greenville with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. www.woodlawn-fh.com
