Joan Dryman Lynn, 78, widow of Charles E. Lynn, passed from this life at the McCall Hospice House on October 16, 2016. Joan was born in Franklin, NC, and was the eldest child of the late Ressie and William Dryman.
Joan was a retired Registered Nurse, having spent her career at Greenville County Detox Center, Greenville Memorial Hospital and St. Francis Hospital. She was a member of Reedy Fork Baptist Church.
Joan is survived by three daughters, Lene’ Lynn Childress and Starr Lynn Birx, both of Piedmont, and Cynthia Goodwin (Glenn) of McKinney Texas. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Casey Bracken (TJ) of Fountain Inn, Davis Goodwin (Caroline) of McKinney Texas, Evan Goodwin of Bluffton, Chandler, Ethan and Harrison Birx, all of Piedmont, and Sydney Childress of Easley. In addition, she is survived by great granddaughters Cadence Thompson and Charleigh Bracken, both of Fountain Inn. Joan is survived by her siblings, Myrtle Taylor (Robert) of Picayune, Mississippi, and Virgil Dryman (Linda) and Grace Thomas, both of Greenville, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Dryman.
A visitation will be held, Tuesday October 18, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Mackey Mortuary, 311 Century Drive, Greenville. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 19 at 1:00 pm at Reedy Fork Baptist Church followed by the burial at Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
