

Mr. Joe Curtis Hall, age 88 of Greenville, SC passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at his residence. Joe was born on May 19,1936 in Calhoun Falls, South Carolina and was the son of the late James William Hall and Bertha Manly Hall.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Faye Barnes Hall and his only daughter, Donna DeBrew of Greenville; two step-grandchildren, whom he loved as his own, Chris DeBrew (Morgan) of Anderson and Storey Gilchrist (Andrew) of Greer; and he cherished being “Joe Joe” to his three great-grandchildren, Lilly and Hines DeBrew and Eva Gilchrist. He is also survived by many special nieces and nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three siblings, W. Garnett Hall, Mary Elizabeth Allen, and John Esper Hall and his son-in-law, Bobby DeBrew.
Joe began his adult life by proudly serving in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1958. Following his service, he transitioned into the civilian world and served as a pilot for Liberty Corporation. He finished his career in retail as an employee of Clayton Tile until retirement in the early 2000’s.
Joe served as a Shriner and was a member of the Carolina Shag Club. He spent much of his retirement on the golf course and cheering on the Carolina Gamecocks whether from home or in the stands at Williams Brice Stadium.
A visitation will be held from 11:30-1pm on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel at 1 Pine Knoll Drive in Greenville, SC. The family will receive friends following the visitation at 310 Brownstone Circle, Greenville, SC 29615.
