John was born in Louisville, Kentucky to George Earle Rohde and Anna Beulah Emery. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After the War he attended Speed Scientific School at the University of Louisville graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked for Monsanto from 1953 until he retired in 1982. He later worked for J.E. Sirrine as a project engineer.
John is survived by his son Michael Rohde (Frances); his daughter Patricia Pitman; his son Stephen Rohde (Vickie); and his daughter Linda Montjoy. John also leaves 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren to cherish his memory.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 54 years Ileane Rohde.
