This is my dad. I didn't understand a lot about his ministry but I know he loved God. We didn't get a lot of chance to see one another but when he would call I would stop what ever I was doing to talk with him. I'm so glad we spent thanksgiving the year before my daughter's wedding where he sat on the front row.  He and I reached for each others hands. See  you can know someone without  saying anything.  Your at peace daddy.  Love your daughter.

My friendship with John extends back to 1970 when we both sit and ministered together under the same mentor at the Tabernacle of God in Gastonia, NC. I admired John's tenacity and love for God to continue ministering the past few years under very difficult obstacles.

Brother John Whitworth embodied truth and mercy in his service to God's people. He helped other ministers until his time of service came.  He is in the hands of God now, a true servant of the Lord who was mightily  anointed of the Holy Spirit.

We first met Brother John during a series of evangelistic meetings in Mount Airy, NC in 1978.  He was the principle speaker in those meetings and we immediately became friends.  We will miss him, but we know we will see him again on the other side.  He was a dedicated man of God always preferring and serving others.

I knew John for 6 decades.  Never a dull moment with him. The John I remember had a great sense of humor, loved to the fullest and would give you the shirt off his back.  He had a sensitive spirit, a loving heart and cared deeply for his brothers and sisters.  John loved ministry.  He cared about people. Many misunderstood him, but he still cared.  I will miss him dearly.  He was a great older brother.  Love you John.
